Weight Loss, the Athlete Way
People lose weight in different ways and for athletes; it’s certainly different compared to the average dieter. For a professional athlete to lose weight they must perform a continuous strength training program and regular sprint intervals; have a high protein diet, a moderate calorific deficit and fasting workouts.
Unlike the everyday dieter, having the right calorie intake is crucial for any athlete due to the level of training involved. Although it is advisable to have an intake between 300-500 less for weight loss, this can actually be too much for an athlete, as they are more reliant on what it is involved in their diet. Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean that you should indulge in burger, chips or pizza on a regular basis to maintain strength for training and races. If you are looking to change your diet, to become more athletic, then we recommend introducing a high protein diet into the regime. It will help to build and repair your muscles.
